Our Story

Toledo Solar is dedicated to helping the U.S. and international countries achieve energy independence, resilience, and self-sufficiency through the extraordinary benefits of our patented processes for CadTel thin-film technology for fabricating advanced Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) and Agri Photovoltaic (AgPV) products. 

 

In the BIPV market, we are working diligently to bring American CadTel Photovoltaic Glass products to top architects and building owners by partnering directly with leading global architectural glass fabricators for the development of photovoltaic spandrel glass products, semi-transparent solar windows, skylights, and louvered sunshades.

 

In addition, Toledo Solar is developing semi-transparent greenhouse window glass and farm canopy systems for the indoor and outdoor agricultural industries.

 

Our products are 100% manufactured in the U.S.A. and generate superior returns for customers over competing technologies.

Toledo Solar’s sleek black opaque and semitransparent solar glass is manufactured using two sheets of high-strength tempered glass hermetically sealed in a frameless construction. (Silicon PV cells are fragile, crack very easily, and are subject to heat overload failure- even on cool days.)

Efficiency

Toledo Solar panels deliver a greater Return on Investment (ROI) than silicon-based options, especially in warm, hot, and/or humid climates. As a semiconductor, Cadmium-Telluride (CadTel) captures more energy from the sun than Silicon (Si), and that leads to more total useable power output.

Economical

Because our solar glass uses more of the sun’s energy, Toledo Solar products deliver the fastest energy payback and the greatest ROI. Your customers may pay a little more upfront but will reap economic benefits over time and much faster than with other products.

Safe

The CadTel materials used in the making of our solar glass are inert, extremely stable, bonded to a sheet of glass under very high temperatures, and fully recyclable.
